The Journey
Following the Beat
'From sweet lovely Derry to fair London Town, there is no better harbour on this coast can be found' |
Contemporary folk, pop and classically trained singer George Hutton has one of those 'I don't believe you' backgrounds. His love for music was always apparent through his love for singer/songwriters Paul Brady, Luke Kelly and Billy Bragg to name a few. It was only when local singer/songwriter Eoin O'Callaghan (AKA Best Boy Grip) started giving him singing lessons that George started believing in his true potential. Discovering his natural tone has led him to the BBC Proms (2012), touring with Anuna, with whom he has recorded 2 albums (Illuminations 2014, Revelations 2015) and is a featured soloist on the song 'The Maid of Coolmore'. A venture to Vancouver Canada in 2014 seen him perform at the 'Vancouver Film Festival' and he was also asked to sing 'Danny Boy' at the Grey Cup final, one of Canada's biggest sporting events. In Christmas of 2014 he was invited to sing with one of his heroes Glen Hansard, as part of the Simons Community Charity busk. In July 2015 he recorded a song called 'My Beautiful' written and produced by 'The Cotton Tree Project' which went No 1 in the UK and Ireland 'Easy Listening' charts and reached a high of No 6 in the Canadian iTunes 'Easy Listening' Charts. Having never studied music, History and sport are where he finds great inspiration and drive. The 2014 European Powerlifting Champion and All-Ireland University Colleges winner (Soccer) never forgets his roots in Gaelic football and the passion he exudes for his local club Steelstown Brian Og's GAC. Currently working on his own EP with Andrew Dempsey (lead singer/songwriter for The Rain), he is working hard and excited for the challenges ahead. George's first original single 'Waiting' is now available on iTunes https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/waiting-single/id1027126757
